www.przestrzen.art.pl).
The main objectives of the Tibetan Programme are:
1. to support the Tibetan people in their peaceful fight for freedom and democracy;
2. to undertake actions aimed at:
- protection of universal human rights and freedoms, including the right to self-determination in Tibet;
- preservation of unique religious and cultural heritage and the natural environment of Tibet;
3. to support peaceful activities undertaken by the international Tibet movement;
4. to help the general public in Poland learn about Tibet and its current situation.
The Tibetan Programme, set up in 2007, continues the activities of the Polish Tibetan Friendship Association (1991-2007). The main activity of the Tibetan Programme is to run the website ratujTybet.org („saveTibet.org”) and take part in international campaigns for Tibet. The activity of the Tibetan Programme is based on the work of a group of volunteers.
Tibetan Programme is an active member of the International Tibet Support Network (ITSN,
www.tibetnetwork.org) – a global coalition of Tibet-related non-governmental organizations dedicated to ending human rights violations in Tibet and to working actively to restore the Tibetan people's right under international law to determine their future political, economic, social, religious and cultural status.
ITSN is committed to non-violence as a fundamental principle of the Tibetan struggle. ITSN regards Tibet as an occupied country and recognizes the Tibetan Government in exile as the sole legitimate government of the Tibetan people. Beyond these principles ITSN respects the variety of views and opinions of its member organizations and believes that diversity strengthens our movement.
Coordinator of the Tibetan Programme in 2007 was elected as a member of the Steering Commitee of the ITSN.
